Introduction to meta-analysis

Workshop presentation slides
This 5-day workshop provides a fast-paced introduction to the statistical methods of meta-analysis and systematic review research procedures. The workshop covers the statistical theory underlying meta-analysis, including effect size and confidence interval estimation, sampling error, and psychometric artifacts (measurement error, range restriction, construct validity, dichotomization), as well as methods for sensitivity analysis, availability bias, and moderator analysis. The workshop provides practical recommendations for conducting systematic reviews, interpretation of real meta-analytic results, and use of open source meta-analytic software. The workshop briefly covers several advanced topics in meta-analysis (e.g., meta-analytic structural equations modeling, second order meta-analysis).
